Privacy Policy
Overview
AnyStash helps you run Live Activities, event sessions, location history, and global variables from Shortcuts. We do not operate our own servers to store your personal content. When you are signed into iCloud, app data may sync through Apple CloudKit, and variable files may use iCloud Drive—or stay on this device only. To improve the product and fix crashes, we may process limited, high-level operational data through third-party service providers—never your notes, variables, or other user content for analytics.
Your Content Stays on Device
The following is your content. We do not upload it to third parties for analytics, advertising, or our own content hosting:
- Location you choose to attach when checking in or recording sessions (we do not track your location continuously in the background).
- Event sessions, notes, category display names and labels, and location history you create in the app or via Shortcuts.
- Global variables and files you choose to store in the app (including variable keys and values).
- Optional photos, videos, or files you attach to file variables.
We do not operate our own servers to store your sessions or variables. Sync of this content is through Apple services under your Apple ID (for example CloudKit for app data, and iCloud Drive for variable files). Files can stay on this device only. Purchases are handled by Apple; we do not require a separate AnyStash account.
Limited Operational Analytics
Separately from your content, the app may send high-level operational data to third-party service providers that help us run and improve AnyStash. This is aggregate / macro product data, such as:
- Whether features are used and how often (for example Shortcuts entry points or Live Activity flows), without the underlying content.
- Purchase-related UI funnel signals (for example that a paywall was shown), not payment card details.
- Crash and diagnostic information needed to fix bugs (for example stack traces, app version, and coarse device or OS information).
- Coarse environment signals needed for remote feature configuration (for example language, region, time zone, or app version).
- Installation-level identifiers used to count usage and diagnose issues—not an AnyStash login.
We may use derived statistical values (for example a one-way hash related to a category label) for product statistics. We do not send raw category names, notes, variable keys or values, file names, or precise location coordinates in analytics events.
We do not collect the advertising identifier (IDFA). We do not use this operational data to build advertising profiles or show third-party ads.
How Data Is Shared
- Your content: not uploaded to our servers; Apple iCloud sync (CloudKit / iCloud Drive) is under your Apple ID. Files can stay on this device only.
- Operational analytics and diagnostics: processed by our service providers on our behalf when your device can reach them. Delivery may be delayed or unavailable on some networks.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- Payments are processed by Apple under Apple’s terms.
Permissions
- Location (When In Use): only when you check in or attach your current location to an action.
- Notifications / alarms: optional reminders when a timed Live Activity ends.
- Camera, microphone, and photo library: only when you add or capture media for file variables.
Your Choices
You can delete event sessions, location records, and variables in the app. Free users can remove data older than the 30-day browse window from Settings → Usage. You can turn off iCloud Drive storage for new files in Settings → Files. Limiting network access or uninstalling the app stops further operational analytics and crash uploads from that installation.
Children
AnyStash is not directed at children under 13.
